Collaboration supports Target Darts’ move into connected gaming and venue-based entertainment.
Leeds, UK – Monday 27th July 2026 – UK games studio Just Add Water has partnered with Target Darts to develop Target Arcade, a new collection of interactive games powered by Target’s connected darts technology.
The project forms part of Target Darts’ wider strategy to change how darts is played and experienced. It brings together Target’s knowledge of the sport and its OMNI Auto Scoring System with Just Add Water’s game development experience.
OMNI uses cameras to track the position of each dart on the board. Target Arcade uses that information as game input, allowing a standard dartboard and set of darts to act as the controller.
The platform will launch with seven games, including Board is Lava, Battlesplash and Alien Invasion. Further games are planned each month, creating an ongoing pipeline of new content for the platform.
Ben Hinchliffe, Creative Director at Just Add Water, states:
“Target came to us with a clear idea: use the information captured by OMNI to do more than score a traditional game of darts.
Our job was to turn that into a range of games that are easy to understand and accessible. But also push what you can do with darts in interesting ways. It has been a great design challenge for us to work on; the whole team has loved working on this unique piece of hardware.”
Target Arcade will also form part of Target Dartzone, Target Darts’ new venue-based darts experience.
Target Dartzone will launch across 20 venues from 24 August 2026, combining connected technology, social gaming and digital competition. Including Target Arcade within the Dartzone offering will give venues access to a growing catalogue of games designed for groups with different levels of darts experience.
James Tattersall, CEO of Target Darts comments:
“Target Arcade isn’t reliant on player ability, it allows players who have never picked up a dart, to casual player and committed players to enjoy darts in a different way.
The game is built to bridge the world of physical darts with the world of digital darts. The way the player throws their darts will now determine how they perform in different games. Your darts can become your controller.”
The partnership reflects the growing crossover between games, connected hardware and location-based entertainment, with both companies bringing their respective experience to the development of the platform.
Further details about Target Arcade and the first Target Dartzone venues will be announced ahead of the August launch.
